Technical fabrics from Velen are used wherever quality, durability and reliability are essential. With our fantastic team and state-of-the-art weaving technology, we produce greige fabrics for a wide range of technical applications, as well as for home textiles, fashion and protective clothing. You can find our finished fabrics – which we refer to as ‘finished goods’ – here.

On our air-jet and rapier looms, we produce plain weaves with weights ranging from 50 to 500 g/m2.
High weaving standards, low wastage.
We leave nothing to chance: 100 % inspection, testing and rigorous checks ensure consistently high quality. This makes the subsequent processing of our raw fabrics a smooth and straightforward process.
Fabric widths up to 3,450 mm and seamless large-scale splicing.
Not everyone can manage three metres and forty-five – but we can. The wide range of fabric widths significantly expands your possible applications.
Blended textiles tailored to your individual requirements.
The application determines the yarn. Before a job begins, we advise you on the most suitable compositions and develop the optimal blend for your specific application. From aramid to Trevira CS®, we process a wide variety of technical yarns and high-performance fibres.
Base fabrics made from certified and recycled yarns.
Depending on your requirements, we can also use our own certified or recycled yarns for our fabrics – such as WECYCLED®, WETURNED® or certified cotton yarns. We’ll work with you to determine which composition and which certifications are suitable for your product.
Velener base fabrics are used for:
- Technical textiles: base fabrics for coatings, abrasives or polishing discs, bookbinding fabrics, tent fabrics, flag fabrics, filter fabrics
- Home textiles: bed linen and mattress toppers, decorative fabrics, contract textiles, internal sun protection
- Clothing: workwear, leisurewear, linings, protective clothing with flame-retardant, antistatic, bi-elastic or high-visibility properties

Velener Textil actually comprises two facilities – the spinning mill and the weaving mill.
At our weaving mill, we primarily manufacture technical textiles in a wide variety of fabric blends, which are then sent for finishing. Our in-house textile development and rigorous quality assurance ensure the renowned quality of our products.
