Certified cotton and viscose yarns from the Velener Spinning Mill

Quality for the textile industry – made in Germany.

Textile quality depends on the yarn: high-quality cotton and viscose yarns form the basis of durable fabrics. Velener Textil develops and produces yarns for the demanding textile industry at its own spinning mill in Velen.

Produced using the latest technology and decades of experience.

At our spinning mill in Velen, we manufacture certified cotton and viscose yarns. Our satisfied customers include weaving mills, knitting mills, dye works and other textile processors. With us, you benefit from the latest spinning technology, our in-house development department and a century of textile expertise. Every yarn you order from us is tested and optimised for your specific application. That is why, with Velener quality yarns, you always have first-class material on your weaving and knitting machines.

Certified cotton yarns for high-quality textile products.

For our OE cotton yarns, we use only carefully selected raw cotton of particularly long-fibre quality. This ensures high tensile strength and reliable, trouble-free machine operation. Furthermore, our cotton yarns are renowned for their exceptionally pure white colour. This is why they are particularly well-suited to the manufacture of table and bed linen, terry towelling, clothing and medical dressings, amongst other applications.

Depending on the product, Velener cotton yarns are certified to GOTS®, OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 or GRS® – or are available via Cotton made in Africa and Better Cotton. With WECYCLED®, we also offer you a low-waste recycled yarn developed in-house. We will work with you to determine which standard is best suited to your product and supply chain. You will find details of the scope of application and the underlying certification documentation on the relevant product pages.

NEW: Viscose yarns, FSC®-certified.

FSC®-certified viscose yarns expand our range to include a further yarn grade for industrial textile processing. It goes without saying that here, too, we offer only products that meet your high standards for quality, tensile strength and optimal machine performance. All the viscose fibres used come from FSC®-certified sources. We tailor the yarn counts and specifications of your viscose yarn individually to your production requirements and intended applications.

Make the most of our textile expertise.
We’d be happy to advise you.

As a textile professional, you probably know which yarn you need. Nevertheless, please do tell us about your plans. The more we know about how you intend to process our yarn, the better we can tailor it to your requirements at the spinning mill. We have a wealth of experience and an excellent track record, particularly with bed linen, terry towelling, home textiles, clothing and tent fabrics. Benefit from the expertise of our textile engineers and many decades of spinning mill experience.

Create added value for your product. And for your customers.

Many consumers pay attention to the origin, materials and traceable standards of textiles. Certified yarn qualities ensure that you can communicate the relevant product characteristics and certifications transparently.

Thanks to our production facility in Velen, near the Dutch border, you also benefit from reliable availability and short supply chains.

With our WECYCLED® recycled yarns, we also offer you an innovation developed in-house. To achieve this, we reintroduce yarn and fabric offcuts from our customers’ production processes back into the material cycle. This creates new yarns – whilst preserving inclusive jobs.

The Velen Spinning Mill – this is where we produce your yarns.

Velener Textil GmbH comprises two plants – the spinning mill and the weaving mill. Both operate as independent profit centres. We supply our yarns to many discerning textile companies in Germany and neighbouring European countries.

At the spinning mill, we have been producing viscose yarns alongside white cotton yarns on modern OE spinning machines since 2026. Through forward-looking stock management and just-in-time logistics, we ensure reliable delivery. Our customers benefit from this, as well as from short delivery routes. Consequently, the turnaround time from order to receipt of goods at your premises is correspondingly fast.
