WECYCLED® recycled cotton yarn

WECYCLED®. Recycled yarns from the textile cycle.

Our WECYCLED® recycled cotton yarns combine high yarn quality with clever resource conservation. This is because, for WECYCLED®, we recycle yarn and fabric offcuts from our customers’ production processes. Reduced to individual fibres and blended with virgin cotton, we spin these into high-performance recycled cotton yarns. Awarded the DNFI prize in the ‘Innovative Processes/Methods’ category!

WECYCLED® Our Product Brand Label

Cotton scraps are turned into recycled yarn. Without any loss of quality.

In textile production, valuable cotton scraps go unused: leftover yarn on spools, fabric scraps from cutting. With WECYCLED®, we return suitable material back into the textile cycle. The cotton scraps are processed into individual fibres and spun into new recycled cotton yarn in our spinning mill, together with long-staple virgin cotton.

In doing so, we use only suitable yarn and fabric scraps from yarns produced in-house. This means we know the initial quality and can tailor the properties of the new WECYCLED® yarn specifically to its subsequent processing.

Recycled cotton yarn that meets high quality standards.

At WECYCLED®, recycling and high yarn quality are not mutually exclusive. The combination of selected recycled fibres and long-staple virgin cotton ensures high tensile strength, uniformity and good performance on weaving and knitting machines. We have verified this through numerous tests and optimisations during the development process.

We manufacture our WECYCLED® recycled yarns to the specifications required for your intended application. They can be processed, dyed and finished without any loss of quality.

WECYCLED®. The yarn with a genuine USP.

WECYCLED® turns previously unused cotton offcuts into a new textile raw material. For participating companies, this means that with our help, you can return suitable yarn and fabric offcuts back into production, rather than disposing of them at great expense.

The recycled cotton provides you with a traceable product story for your own communications. Another advantage of the WECYCLED® system is our partnership with an inclusive workshop here in the region. The staff there remove the yarn scraps from their cardboard spools so that the different materials can be sorted and sent for recycling separately.

A systematic approach to the textile circular economy.

WECYCLED® combines collection, processing and reprocessing in a circular system developed by Velener. In this way, suitable cotton scraps are turned back into raw material for new yarns – and, if desired, subsequently into new WECYCLED® fabrics in our weaving mill.

You can find out exactly how the WECYCLED® cycle works on our page about the WECYCLED® system.
